Police report thefts from cars
The Ridgewood Police Department has reported a number of illegal entries into cars parked in the owners’ driveways, and several thefts from the cars. On Nov. 19, at 9:02 a.m., a resident of Upper Boulevard reported that during the night all three vehicles in his driveway had been entered. The only item reported missing was an iPod. On the same date, at 9:18 a.m., another Upper Boulevard resident reported that an iPod had been taken from a parked car. The thefts are under investigation by the Ridgewood Police Department. On Nov. 23, a resident of William Street reported an attempted forcible entry. A patrol responded and found that a back window had been pried open, but it did not appear that anyone had entered the residence. J. KOSTER

Ridgewood Councilman Paul Aronsohn has submitted the village’s affordable housing plan to Bergen County for a possible Municipal Accessibility Recognition Award. Village Planner Blais Brancheau approved Aronsohn’s initiative to submit the plan, which could, if approved, lead to financial support for Ridgewood’s plans and programs.
The submission shows that Ridgewood has complied with the standards required and is thus eligible for county awards for supplying housing based on standards from the Council on Affordable Housing. J. KOSTER
