The show will feature various designers. Tickets include social hour, lunch, Viennese table, special auction, and fashion show. The cost for members is $10 and $20 for non members. Boosters to host Pancake Breakfast The Mahwah High School Sports Boosters will hold a Pancake Breakfast fundraiser on Sunday, April 26 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Chili’s on Route 17 North in Ramsey. Cost is $5 per person at the door and includes pancakes, bacon, juice, coffee, and tea. Mahwah High School Sports Boosters will receive 100 percent of the proceeds. Pancake breakfast planned at Holy Cross Holy Cross Lutheran Church, located at the corner of Route 202 North and West Ramapo Avenue, is sponsoring a Pancake Breakfast with the Easter Bunny on Saturday, April 11 starting at 9 a.m. Tickets are $10 for a family of four and $5 each for extra tickets. Children three years old and under will be admitted free of charge. There will be a puppet show for the children at 9:45 a.m. followed by an Easter Egg Hunt. Library hosts exhibits “Second Act: The Mixed Media Artwork of Mozafar Motabar” is on display at the Mahwah Library during the month of April. A Mahwah resident, Motabar came to the United State after a 50-year career in chemical industrial raw materials and agricultural chemicals. He volunteers at the Mahwah Senior Center and is a member of its art classes. His first experience in painting is on display until the end of April and includes pieces in pencil, watercolor, acrylic, pen and ink, and charcoal. In addition to his art work, Motabar is a poet and calligrapher in Farsi. Also on display is “Skylands: The New Jersey State Botanical Gardens” through May. The exhibit features photographs, historic postcards, pressed and dried flowers, books, Skylands’ history and current activities, and garden fixtures and memorabilia showcasing the beauty of the botanical gardens. Research materials include books on job searches, writing resumes and cover letters, interviewing, networking, franchising, starting your own business, finding a civil service job, and more. There are DVDs on grooming and dressing for success, getting a first job, planning a career, money management, the right part-time job, and a virtual job interview. There is a new brochure called “Jobseekers” that contains employment and career information on the web. Check out the “Job Center” bulletin board postings. The library has two public computers for resume writing. There are eight public Internet computers that can be used for applying for unemployment benefits and checking out job websites. Ukrainian Egg Decorating offered at library The Mahwah Public Library will offer a Ukrainian Egg Decorating Workshop with Patty Wiszuk-DeAngelo on Saturday, April 4 at 12:30 to 4 p.m. In this hands-on craft works taught by professional award-winning artist, learn the art of Ukrainian egg decorating and make a hand-dyed egg to take home. Participants must purchase a $25 supply kit and pre-register. The cost of the program is $20 and is a non-refundable supply fee. This program is suitable for all ages. Young professionals to meet Young Professionals Network of the Mahwah Regional Chamber of commerce is hosting an Open House on Wednesday, April 1, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Dave & Busters, 4661 Palisades Center Drive, West Nyack, New York. No registration or fee is required for this event. This is an opportunity to meet many young professionals from the area in an enjoyable setting. Light refreshments and a cash bar will be available. The primary goal of the YPN is to create a venue where young professionals can meet informally, without the constraints of a formal networking event. Unlike other networking groups, the YPN has no formal membership list, no dues, no compulsory attendance, and no registration fee. Young Professionals Networks provide opportunities to build a professional contact base, develop networking skills, and form relationships with other like-minded individuals for professional and personal growth. The library will also be closed on Tuesday, April 28 for the New Jersey Library Association Conference. Transportation will be by deluxe motor coach that will leave from the Mahwah Senior Center at 8 a.m. The tour also includes a guided tour of Sagamore Hill and Eagle’s Nest. A three-course luncheon will be served at Mill Pond House. The cost for this tour is $61. This trip is open to Mahwah residents only. The Senior Center is offering movie day on April 2 at noon in the all-purpose room. The feature presentation will be “Nights in Rodanthe” with Richard Gere and Diane Lane.
